This card, originally designed for New Year’s and birthdays, is a constant source of inspiration. When looking at it, I am continually hopeful that nothing is coming to an end, but something is always beginning, a new day, a new project, another chance to pursue my dreams and passions.

The artist in me inspired the idea for this design. Looking at this card, I am constantly motivated to get it down on paper, -- the idea, -- the plan, -- the strategy to get started today on my dreams of tomorrow.

The inspiration for this card comes from when I was a child and asked my mother on Mother’s day, when is Kid’s Day? Her response was “every day is Kid’s day.” Every day is a holiday to celebrate you, your life, who you are, and who you are becoming.

This card was created in 1989, a time of personal change and job growth for my friends and me. The card symbolizes the excitement, energy, rebirth, coming out of the darkness we all experience with a new job, promotion, new relationship, birth of a child, new home purchase, etc. All of the wonderful experiences life has to offer us every day! What meaning does it have for you?

Originally designed as a graduation card for those ready to enter the reality of job hunting, entrepreneurship, etc., it is still a reminder to me to do everything bold and in my own unique style.

Go Anywhere was created in the Fall of 2002, when the economy was in the doldrums, the investment market gloomy, the job market in the U.S. the worst in years. The idea was to convey a sense of hope and encouragement, a reminder to all of us not to let go of dreams. At the same time, the message was one of caution. The single, continuous line represents the journey through life. The answer to navigating this complex life (depicted by a highly stylized maze, the result of numerous drawings) is to “keep one hand on the wall.” If you keep one hand on the wall of life’s maze, you will never be lost.

You can choose your attitude toward life - is it hard, full of setbacks and disappointments? Or is this complex web we call life complicated, intricate and sweet, to be savored and enjoyed? What will your attitude be today?

Spanish for “It Is What It Is.” It may come as a surprise to learn the motivation for this design, was the loss of an acquaintance. A man who had been heavy-set all his life went on a rigorous exercise program and crash diet at the age of 40. With the pressures of work and the joy of family life (he was the father of six) he played racquetball one morning and his heart gave out. He died instantly. Not all of us are meant to be thin. Whether you are tall, short, thin, skinny, round, dark, light, red, brown, black or white, be who you are and know that is a very special someone to be.

We have all lost someone or something unexpectedly, tragically. I never want to say “I wish.” Be grateful for the moment and the people who make the moment an experience to remember and cherish.
